There are a few things you can do to create a calm environment in your child's bedroom with as few stressors as possible for children with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
First, choose a calm colour for the. Warm earthy tones or calm blue tones tend to create a positive mood and be less stressful.
Reduce factors that may distract your child, such as too many toys. Focus on what interests the child most and store other objects in out-of-sight places.
In addition, avoid placing a desk in the ADHD children's bedroom. Desks are associated with completing tasks and this can cause stress to the child. If having a desk in the bedroom is necessary, make sure it is completely empty of objects before bedtime.
You should also avoid having, as much as possible, electronic devices in the children's bedroom. Activities such as watching television or playing video games are better to do outside the child's bedroom, as they can cause additional stress and difficulty in concentrating.
